We've all been there: scrolling through Facebook groups at odd hours trying to find that landscaper someone recommended months ago, or Googling "plumber near me" only to find ads for big companies when you just want the trusted local professional your neighbour swears by.
That's why we built Owlio.
Who, who, who?
If you've ever posted in a community group asking "who does snow removal?" or "who knows a good accountant?" you already know where our name comes from. Those questions get asked hundreds of times, and the answers get buried. Someone looking for a snow removal company in October can't find the glowing review posted in March. We knew there had to be a better way.
What We're Building
Founded by two West Islanders, Owlio is a community-driven platform that connects local service providers with the people who need them. Think of us as a modern, searchable directory where small and medium-sized businesses can showcase their work with professional profile pages, complete with service descriptions, pricing, photos, and reviews from real customers. Whether you're looking for home services, automotive help, professional services, or personal care, if they serve your community, they deserve to be found.
How it Works
For service providers: Create a profile page you can share as your own website. After a free 6-month trial (January to June 2026), advertising costs just $30/month.
For users: It's simple and always free. Search for what you need, see who's recommended in your area through our thumbs-up/thumbs-down review system, and connect directly with providers.
Starting Local &
Growing Together
We're launching the first week of January 2026 in the West Island of Montreal. As service providers expand their reach and new communities join, we'll grow with them. Because in 2026, we can do better than posting "does anyone know a plumber?" in a Facebook group at 3 AM.
